24”x18” oil on board
Everything exaggerated, my first apartment in Odessa Ukraine of the six and a half years I spent there. Shocking use of color. The floor, a purplish red, swirls of blue. A trailer, centered blues, outlined yellow and orange. In the foreground a vase, tropical pink flowers. A black cat atop a table. And then a sofa, a stripped blanket to hide the wear; patterns of black, orange, yellow and blue.
Another chair, wooden, blue, a purplish seat. The wall, striped wallpaper, borders brown, stripes yellow, dots of blue. In the corner a bookcase, few books, diminutive sculptures of various sizes.
On the wall, a battery, heating for the room. And a window looking out, cypress trees.
