No one would think it, but I came of my own free will. It took the courage of God to put me here. We, together, entered that door, and it was He who carried me through. Once inside, all my worldly choices vanished. And when I looked around, God had gone.
Now, anything I earn comes from my ability to regain sanity. I have reached bottom. And as crazy as it might seem, a place like this can seem a blessing.
I am now the ward of the state mental institution of Ukraine in Odessa. A place I passed time and again as a child, fearing that I would be in here one day. No one would ever say this is not a scary place.
