Orbit of Life
14″x17″ Mixed Media on Paper on Board
From a Picasso painting I took his woman figure which is to the left, her positioning of self-protection, the feel of being totally alone. Across to the other side, a menacing bull, a Minotaur hunched, looking on and in-between. Above, a woman, again a Madonna, peaceful and at ease with three stars about her crown. And below, again a blue child, a son, pure and enlightened, a halo about his head. Two arches, one blue, the other yellow, the double orbit of life, and between the two, the determining factor of life itself. And off in the distance rotating, the earth and from where we come. Again a red background, tints of light and darkness.
